Which Casa Should You Book at Hotel Xcaret Arte?

We stayed next door at Hotel Xcaret México, not at Arte, and with a four-year-old we could not have stayed at Arte anyway. Everything on this page comes from the hotel's own pages and from published reviews, read on 26 July 2026. The pillar page is here.
We are writing it because the casa question is the one real decision Arte asks you to make at booking, and the hotel's own material makes it harder than it needs to be.
How many casas are there?
Six, and the hotel contradicts itself about it.
Arte's casas page opens with "Each and every of the 6 Casas of Hotel Xcaret Arte" and the group site says "six Houses (Casas)." But the About page on the same website still lists five, naming only the buildings that contain suites. Most third-party pages, Forbes Vetted included, repeat the five.
The reading that fits every source: six casas, five of them hold suites, and Casa del Patrón is the non-residential hub.
One more correction while we are here. Cayuco is not a casa. It is a restaurant and a wet bar inside Casa del Diseño, and it gets listed as a seventh casa surprisingly often.

The catch: not everything is open to everyone
This is the part worth booking around, and it is stated plainly on the hotel's own page for that casa: at Casa de los Artistas, "the services are exclusive for the guests of this Casa."
That covers its rooftop pool, its gym, its library, and Kibi-Kibi, the Yucatecan and Lebanese restaurant by Roberto Solís. It also covers the painting workshop, which no other casa's guests can join.
Travel + Leisure describes the same thing from the other side, noting that Casa de los Artistas guests are buying "non-restricted entry to pools, bars, and rooftops." That is a concession that guests of the other casas are restricted somewhere, and it is the clearest published evidence that Arte has an internal tier system.
Gyms are split the same way. The hotel's FAQ says only that "some are exclusive for certain Casas." Casa de los Artistas and Casa de la Paz each have one.
None of this is hidden, exactly. It is just spread across four pages and never summarised, which is why people book a casa on the strength of a photograph.
So the suites are all the same?
Close to it, and this is the finding that should shape your decision.
Travel + Leisure reports that most suites are essentially the same 646 square feet. Arte's own suite list is organised by view and access rather than by casa: Garden, River, Ocean View, Ocean Front, Junior, Master and Presidential, with Swim Up variants that open onto a pool or the river, and Garden Spa, River Spa and Junior River Spa variants with direct access to Muluk Spa.
Which means the honest framing is this. You are not choosing a nicer room. You are choosing a view, a level of access, and a building. Spend your money on whichever of those three you will actually use.
Occupancy, and the limit that catches groups
Straight from the FAQ, and worth checking before you plan a group trip:
- Most suites hold a maximum of three adults. The Master Suite holds five, the Presidential six.
- There are no extra beds. Every suite does have a double sofa bed.
- Non-registered guests cannot be brought into a suite, for stated security and privacy reasons.
- Check-in is 15:00 and check-out 12:00, with early and late options for a fee.
And the rule that overrides all of it: everyone must be 16 or over, with 16 and 17 year olds accompanied by a parent or guardian. The full arithmetic on that is on the pillar page.
How we would choose
Not advice from a stay, because we did not have one. This is what the sources support.
Book Casa de los Artistas if you want the most access, and accept that its premium is buying exclusivity rather than a bigger room. It is the only route to the painting workshop, and its rooftop pool is its own.
Book Casa de la Paz if the spa is the trip. Muluk Spa is inside it, and the Spa suite variants open directly onto it. Cosexa, the fully plant-based restaurant, and the El Deseo speakeasy are also here.
Book Casa de la Música or Casa de la Pirámide if you care most about a particular workshop, dance and pottery respectively. Both are open to all Arte guests, so proximity is the only gain.
Book Casa del Diseño if you want the simplest arrival. The main reception is here.
Nobody sleeps in Casa del Patrón. You will go there anyway, because the Sunday brunch, the cantina and several restaurants are in it.
What we could not confirm
- Whether guests of other casas may use the Casa de los Artistas rooftop pool for a fee. The exclusivity is stated; a paid exception is not addressed.
- Any pool count for the property. A figure of 15 circulates on blogs and appears on no official page, so we will not repeat it.
- Whether butler service varies by casa or suite tier. The only source is a Forbes piece from 2022 and current official material does not mention it.
- Which casas hold which of the seven suite categories. The suites page is organised by category and the casas page by building, and the two are never cross-referenced.
